Car Pictures & Kit Cars

Association of British Drivers Association of British Drivers
Take a look at my fair deal for motorist page.

During my three years at university I spent some time collecting pictures of cars from various FTP sites around the world.  During my final two years the Web became more popular, and hence it was another good source for pictures.

As many internet users, like me, use modems to connect I have supplied small thumbnails of each image, so you can view what you will be getting, without downloading a large file.  These thumbnails are small 16 colour GIFs, and the full pictures are JPEGs. my only concession is the two animated GIFs to brighten up the page a bit.

So what now?

So what have I been doing lately?  Well I'm now working in IT for my second London law firm and I'm going through my second merger :( This means lots of hard work, but that does include lots of overtime :) which is helping towards the impending costs of my first kit car build.

To decide which kit to build I've taken out a subscription with Which Kit?. As well as producing the monthly magazine they have a yearly publication called the Which Kit guide, that details brief information about as many kit cars as possible, including contact details for the current manufacturer.

It didn't take me long to decide what car I wanted to build... The modern looking, matched to modern mechanics of the Quantum H4. It's a practical 2+2 sports coupé with a clever targa top that can be removed and stored in the boot to give you a stylish convertible.

After 2 visits to the factory and 2 test drives I finally placed my order and received my key ring - H4-082. This was back at the beginning of April 1998. I then spent time religiously buying Auto Trader and searching the salvage ads in the hope of finding a suitable donar car. In mid July 1998 I found exactly what I was looking for; a Fiesta RS Turbo with rear end damage. You can see pictures of it and read about my build so far...

HOT NEWS

My build is now complete. Hopefully I will update the site shortly. Look out for H4 SKK on the roads near you!

To find out some more a the entire range of Quantums available and what you can do with them visit the QOC website for all the info. The club publishes an excellent magazine every quarter and it a must if you own or are thinking of owning a Quantum.

Here is my collection of kit car photos. Is your car here?

Also if you are looking to build a kit car here is a page of links to manufacturers pages that I know about.

One of the guy's from work has an excellent Captain Pugwash page. I'd highly recommend this if you've got small children.

Anyway that's all for now. Hopefully I'll get around to updating this again shortly, by adding more pictures and I can now keep an eye on how many of you are accessing this page too.
